Origami + Dais
What about Dais makes the company attractive to Origami? Why are we doing this?
What initially attracted us to Dais is their people, their culture, and their technology. They know insurance and have taken a creative, technology-first approach to solving for speed to value in the rating and policy admin space, developing tools that can automatically configure the rating and policy admin system (PAS) from an Excel rater or even from some other external sources. This makes them a really nice fit for MGAs and startups that want to bring a new product to market quickly with a low upfront investment. They have also built an elegant solution that leverages Verisk’s ERC 2.0 to bring ISO products to market quickly. This solution led to Verisk partnering with Dais as a technology engine behind their Rating as a Service offering.
How will this impact Origami’s roadmap and/or product strategy?
While Dais provides Origami with new and innovative software, the addition of Dais will not impact the current product roadmap for Origami. Origami has been aggressively growing our investment in talented colleagues in development and product and that will certainly continue.
Will Dais integrate with Origami or keep them separate? Will my instance be impacted?
Dais will remain a stand-alone product, but we will have certain client-led use cases that will drive integration work just as we would with any other project (e.g. Dais clients that need Origami as a claims system, or an Origami client that wants a custom storefront as a system of engagement for agents or policyholders). Origami Risk clients will not be impacted.
How does Dais compare with Origami and other platforms?
While both products offer policy rating and issuance, Origami and Dais solve different use cases and are designed for different parts of the market. Dais focuses on and excels at getting new insurance products to market quickly for de novo MGAs or carriers that want to quickly expand into new product lines, whereas Origami is a comprehensive, end-to-end platform for insurance and serves as a system of record. The two technologies complement each other nicely and collectively can add value to the entire insurance ecosystem.
