With over 100,000 employees serving approximately 20,000 clients across more than 15 industries, ABM Industries embarked on an ambitious, long-term transformation initiative, Vision 2020, to unify operations and drive consistent excellence across the organization.  

 

This case study explores how, as part of Vision 2020, ABM’s Risk & Safety department implemented a series of strategic initiatives to enhance safety measures and reduce claims frequency and severity. Through programs like “Moment for Safety,” claims closure efforts, and various allocation and training initiatives, ABM achieved significant improvements in risk management and safety culture. The company leveraged Origami Risk’s RMIS, EHS, and GRC suites to support these efforts, enabling data consolidation and process streamlining. As a result of these strategic initiatives, ABM realized a 35% decrease in casualty claim frequency rate and an 18.5% reduction in total cost of risk over a five-year period.
